Hi everyone. i just found a good deal locally on a 79 924 thats been sitting for a few years that i couldn't pass up. and so of course i had to find a forum to join! now on to the problem...so after draining the old gas, new batt, and a quick look at the timing belt i tried firing her up last weekend with no luck, she would fire momentarily with starting fluid, so i assumed it was a fuel issue. i pulled all the injectors out and they sprayed fine... actually way too well, they filled 1/2 a 2 liter bottle in aprox 20 seconds. so much to my surprise, it's getting way too much fuel... now i've been trolled through the forum a bit and read the fuel section in haynes manual several times over but i'm kind of in the dark here, i've always tinkered on domestics and this thing is baffeling me... any help would be much appreciated.

That's not a bad looking car, but this is the 924"S" forum, which specifically deals with the 2.5L engine in the 924 body, made from '86-'88.

You may want to ask the moderator to move this thread for you, so that it will get more responses from the 2.0L 924 guys.

Welcome to the board!

Brad

congrats! nice find too. allot of interesting potential there with the aftermarket wheels and front spoiler.

If you havent already, you might want to consider a full fuel system cleaning, including draining the tank, or at the very least, put some fuel stabilizer in it. the stabilizer will clean the system better than and techron or other packaged stuff and its less expensive as well.

Hey, I have that same steering wheel. Were you able to get the horn to work? I haven't dug into the problem, live in the country, and no one to honk too!
