Hey guys, new here.
from saskatoon sk
ATM i am driving a 1977 porsche 924 30000 original miles, with a 2" dual straight pipe that doesnt sound all that bad.
its a pretty slick little car and i love it but it has a few issues i was wondering if you could help me with.
first off, sometimes when the car is cold it runs like it is missfiring but starts running good around 2500 rpm, and then runs perfect once it is warmed up.
also, my sunroof leaks which is causing the headliner to fall apart, and the rear hatch weather stripping is falling off. due to the way the exhaust it ran it sucks in fumes and is not safe.
also, what size speakers are right behind the seats in the side panel?one of mine is blown and i would like to replace it.
here are some photos.
the interior is a mess. i need to clean it and take care of all the wires from the PO
headliner
the paint looks dull in some spots because it was used by the previous owner as an auto-x car and there is some left over sticker residue. going to take it off, a nice wax job, then eventually i might paint it satin black.
a few other questions i had is how hard are these rims to polish? any tips? are there any vehicles i can take a stock set of tires and toss on without spacers? i would like to have a set of "burnable" tires.
what are my options for power steering? |

Looks like you are missing some trim on the sunroof. In the mean time, I'd run a bead of clear, outside type, silicone in the grove around the sunroof. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Welcome to the board! Nice little runner you got there. On the parts side of it start with Pelican parts (their forum not the actual parts system) and Rennlist along with the cars and parts wanted/for sale section on this board.
As for info on the "runs rough while cold" use the google advanced search on this board and almost always someone has had that issue before you even 7 years before you (thats how I found my overboost switch issue).
Btw that thing is absolutly puny beside that Mark LT there, I thought it was a F350 for a minute. _________________ Melanie - 1980 931

Green tartan interior, you don't see that on a Civic. |

nice ride, for a second there i thought you took a picture of mine. They must be twin sisters or something cos they are very identical...especially for the crappy paint and the torn interior! _________________ 1979 924 NA |

Hi there and welcome to the board! Saskatoon, hey - not too far from me. Is that the same yellow car that sat in a field outside Battleford? I'm sure I recognize it and may have come close to buying it at some point. You'll see by my sig that I need another 924 like I need a hole in the head.
For the cold running issue, check your auxiliary air valve. Do a search on the board here for specifics. Remove it from the car, pop it in the freezer and it should open. Put 12 volts across its terminals or provide it with a heat source and it should close. HTH.
Speakers are 4 x 6 low profile ones.
There's a petrel green 924 for sale in Saskatoon on kijiji right now - it may be a good parts car for you. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
