I use Amsoil 10W30. The previous owner ran Mobil 1 Synthetic, and replaced all of the seals. It does not leak.
I did a front end service, and replaced the camshaft seals, and the engine was great with no carbon deposits or build up. _________________ 67 Mercury Cougar XR7 under Restoration

I think any good quality dino or synthetic oil is fine.
I use Castrol 20W50 - it is a little heavier, but I don't drive the car in the winter, and it seems to leak a little less when driven hard.

I used to use valvoline full synthetic 10w30, but switched to mobile1 full synthetic 10w30 as the price has dropped. I have not experienced oil loss with either. The 2.5 is normally not an oil consuming engine. Do you have leaks? |
