I have removed CIS injectors from the engine. There are four rubber thingys that are still in the cylinder head, what do you call them, injector seats?.
How can I remove them? I noticed that two of them are turning around very easily and two of them are more firmly attached. Can I just pull them out using force? I'd like to replace them too. Thanks for your answers in advance. _________________ Mikko

Assuming they are the same as in my car, they are threaded and can be removed with a socket. I bought new ones from PCNA, and it appears they have been updated. . .will post pics here later. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Yes there is metal peace attached to these rubbers, looking like a nut. Excuse my english. I'll try to turn them with a socket. _________________ Mikko

According to PET is "931 110 226 01 socket". Ok, I'll try using a socket. _________________ Mikko

The metal bits are also threaded into the plastic seat, so you will likely remove those and leave the seat behind. The black seat itself also should have a hex moulded into it. . .I wanna say a 14mm? _________________ Toofah King Bad

Yes, I'm pretty sure...I was going to post that I had removed them by double nutting a bolt and using the bolt head to back out the plastic part, but I couldn't remember if it was on the 931 or the NA that I did this. 14mm seems right.
Just be careful when removing the plastic. If the PO used any kind of thread sealant, they can stick and be difficult to remove. You certainly don't want to break the plastic bit with the head in situ, so care is warranted. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
