So I had fixed all the leaks and checked the seals...and then dried all the carpet out. However, every time I got into the car the whole roof lining and inside of the windscreen was covered in condensation.

I checked all the seals again and there was no leak. I also checked the firewall /bulkhead area for water ingress. All OK.

We had a nice sunny day recently, and I decided to begin the task of replacing the worn out roof lining.

As I removed the trim under the sun visors and pulled the old roof vinyl away I found these 3 peices of sponge stuck to the roof. When I peeled them off I found they were absolutely FULL of water.

I'm not joking when I say I squeezed over a pint of water from these 3 peices:

The 2 black sponges sit just under the plastic hoses connecting to the sunroof's front water channels.

Over time I guess they had absorbed the water through condensation, when I did have a leak.

Since then no more condensation. Nice to be able to get in the car on a cold day and drive without steaming up all the windows.

Anyway, hope that helps some,

Tiny
