Drivers door lock!!!

Well. I am almost ready to drive my car on the road other than the Drivers door will not lock with the key. The key I have is pretty worn. I am getting new keys made and I hope a new key will beable to lock it!! I don't want to put a new stereo in the car if I can' t lock it up. LOL. If that doesn't work then I think the drivers door handle was replaced. The lock does work with the window downby pushing it down manually, but as soon as the window is up. I guess you have to use the key to lock the door. Will a locksmith beable to key the door lock to my keys? If not can he make a key for it? Either way Is good for me!!!
