I've read a lot but can't really put my finger on why the 931 makes 150 hp and the ROW with 170 hp.
Timing seems an obvious difference but what else was there? _________________ 1980 Turbo

half a point compression increase in the row cars, slightly different pistons. _________________ Eric

Mostly due to stock boost levels. S2 Specs:
US cars run 7 psi or .5 BAR 156hp
Euro cars run 10 psi or in Euro speak .65 BAR 177hp
Put a boost gauge and a manual boost controller in your US car, turn it up to 10 psi and enjoy. You'll need to run on 93 octane. You would probably be safe at 11psi since the US cars have a lower compression ratio.
Intercooled model specs:
Carrera GTs ran 12.5 PSI or .85 BAR 210hp
Carrera GTS ran 14.5 PSI or 1 BAR 245hp
Carrera GTS CS ran 16 PSI or 1.1 BAR 270hp _________________ 1981 931 CGT replica, OEM CGT intercooler, .8 BAR WG spring, GTS Headlights, Innovative Wide band A/F, A/C delete, 16" Fuchs, Weltmeister 200lb lowering springs, Bilstein HDs front, Koni Sport rears.

As above: higher 8.5:1 CR (vs. 7.5:1 in S1 US and 8.0:1 in S2 US); .8 bar wastegate spring as opposed to .6 bar in US trim; and different DITC board. And I believe the BHP numbers are 177 in Euro trim and 156 in US. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Row S1 0.7 bar.
Row S2 0.65 bar (this is verified by my VDO boost gauge.) _________________ Mikko

S1 ROW (M31.01): CR 7.5:1, 0.75 bar of boost, K26-2470R6.10 turbocharger
S1 US (M31.02): CR 7.5:1, 0.45 bar, K26-2660GA4.10 turbocharger
S2 ROW (M31.03): CR 8.5:1, 0.65 bar, K26-2664G4.10
S2 US (M31.04): CR 8.0:1, 0.45 bar, K26-2660GA4.10
S1 had ignition distributors with different curves of ignition for US and ROW. S2 had different ignition modules. _________________ WBR, Shurick
