Hello All,

I just recently came into ownership of a 1987 924s. Its has a 3 speed automatic. Now I managed to get a set of 944 workshop manuals. Except for a few things (like dash culster and so forth), I am assuming this will work for my 924s. It states that the AFT Fluid Type is Dexron II. Well generally all I can find is Dexron III at my local parts stores. If I remember correctly I think this will work, but would like to ask you all for any thoughts on this.

Will be spending years working on this to get it back into tip top shape (mainly waiting on money to do various projects). And also the FOES was done 4 months before I bought the car. Thanks for any thoughts and opinions.

Dexron III superseded Dexron II so, it meets or exceeds the same performance specifications.

The 944 manuals will work just fine, as you say the dash and a few interior bits will be different, but mechanically it'll give you all the info you need if its the Porsche workshop manual.

Most people now use Dexron III anyway but I wouldn't advise mixing the 2, but if you're doing a full resto the you'll no doubt be draining the it and changing the filter in the box.
Good lukc with the project and keep us up to date on how things go, just finished an 88 924S Auto, so if I can help just ask
