These were built by my friend Gary, he has porsche ties from way back when he started out as a prts gogher, he was amazed at all the used porsche parts that were thrown away.. before they had parts crushers
I was told the porsche people would come around and make sure the used parts were destroyed by smashing them with big hammers.
These are powerful 356s. A lil under 200 hp each.
I have lots more pics of each car such as interior, motor and build pics
if anyone cares. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Funky disk brake to replace the drum setup on the back. I've never seen that before myself.
I'm assuming there's a similar setup on the front? _________________ 78 924 NA

Real nice work !! Love it. Is it a production series or a single car? Price?
And what is that Polopolus thing on the engine? (Greek of corse).
More pics from the finished car please!!

He used to turn em out as quicke as he could
now he just takes his time. He started out prpping cars
which he displayed in the street concours category at
concourse events. He was so busy toothbrushing "em that he
was afraid to drive them anywhere. In those days, he used to drive them to concours, then work for hours getting them all cleaned up. When he was all through, he'd say, 'You know, that wasn't so much fun.' After ten years of that, he decided to get into fun cars, especially vintage cars." _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Outstanding Outlaw!
The Polopolus is a 4 cylinder version of the the 911 motor - a bit pricy but more HP that could be obtained from the 356. Good ole home grown engineering.

Page 53 of this months magazine of porsche excellance
has a article on a 1957 356a with a early 911 engine.
Its another outlaw, and it was partially built by my friend
here in oregon a relocated socal porsche enthusiast whoes
name is mentioned thru out the article. Hes a been a really
nice guy to me filling me with nostalgia and inspiration
I have recieved great deals with his kindness on parts
such as my fuchs, 944 hatch & other bits and pieces.
So go get the magazine pop your favorite beverage and
read the article. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
