|

ok. so I am going to need a fresh distributor but before I get my hands on one I would like to remove the rotor sensor to see if the sensor is visibly damaged. Ive noticed a smal soldering point that looks like its been clipped by one of the magnetic arms. theres a small lock pin on top and the flat head screw. both of which could be the securing principal in this. how do I remove the sensor properly without breaking it. Ive searched but to no avail. its an 80 n/a. Danka. rule # 1.
mine wants to look like this when it gets healthy. . _________________ "There are no kings inside the gates of Eden"

You have to disassemble the entire distributor to get the sensor assembly out. The replacement cost of the sensor plus the labor is higher than the cost of buying a replacement distributor in many/most cases.
When the module in my 81 distributor fell apart at 100K miles, I took it a Bosch Authorized service center where it was disassembled and inspected, with the module replaced, and tested after reassembly. The labor was less than $50 at the time. I think the module was about $80-$100. |

I still have that rebuilt unit available...
...love the signal green, btw. Don't see too many in that color, it's a good color for the early cars. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
