The rubber LH side engine mount for all years NA is 477199301 and listed at Pelican for $92.
The same LH mount for all model turbos and CGTs is 477199301A and priced at $72.
Besides $20, WTF is the difference?
Anyone know or got both to compare?
Logically one would presume the turbo mount is the stronger/ better/ preferred unit, if mounting dimensions are similar? |

rubber hardness? one may be a few Rockwell points harder than the other!
When i bought my Land Rover, previous owner had made wooden engine mounts. They worked lovely _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

9 pics start here of one I got off eBay some years ago.. It was listed as being for a 924T. Interesting - it has both part numbers formed into the rubber - one on one side, the other on the other...

Maybe someone out there has an unistalled 924NA mount and can compare it with the pics - and look to see if their's has both part numbers too.
Pelican I know has in the past had multiple records in their system for the same part, so you'd get multiple listings of the same part #, but each with a different price. (Obviously safe to assume the highest price is the most up-to-date record.) Maybe something similar's happening with the motor mount.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. …picked up my spare NA LH engine mount this afternoon and yes you are right: It sure looks identical?!
And no, I took it out of a '84 NA body shell myself a few years back; I remember it was a 1984 NA for sure.
Front (your first pic) # 477 199 301 A GRAU (…whats the GRAU for? Yours says it too sir Smoothie)
Back (your second pic) # 477 199 301
Minor differences?:
The #18 on the left side, next to ‘4GTF’ & ‘GIMETALL®’ on your second picture;
My LH engine mount reads # 11, …but that could be related to the mold used?
Mold stamps start at '75 and go up to '82 (eight mold stamps total)
…I see you don't have the '82 stamp. The other stamps are located in the exact same place.
So the differences are:
— # 18 instead of # 11.
— Mine is probably a year younger then your LH engine mount |

Thanks for the input guys & gals.
Informative pics Smoothie, as usual. Looks just like my fairly recently replaced (1-2 yrs) new mount. Didn`t feel like cleaning out the back shed to find the old one but from memory appears exactly like the others and the turbo one pictured.
As well as the year code on Harm`s mount the other number may be the mold # as suggested, batch #, personnel # of the monkey that cast it, completely irrelevant, or maybe the bonus lotto number? As Smoothie`s mount has both part #s (+A) cast there appears to be no difference in hardness or dimensions.
The curious thing is that I only looked the part numbers up at Pelican after seeing them in the PET. Could understand it the 477199301A version superseded the 477199301 and was more costly. That`s what usually happens isn`t it?
All years US and ROW PETS list these 2 separate numbers, with 477199301A as turbo/GT. Was there ever a difference originally? A ploy from the marketing or parts department?
I have been informed by another member that all mounts are now NLA anyway. Can anyone confirm or deny that? |

Auto Atlanta parts here also comes up with different prices:
1 477 199 301 bonded rubber mounting /L 1 924 $106.85
(1) 477 199 301 A bonded rubber mounting /L 1 TURBO/GT $84.13
The ‘G’ infront of the part number would suggest it is genuine.
(note: the AA listing and images (or the lack of it) don't give me any confidence)

Both my LH engine mounts:
Left one reads # 11, '82… <—> right one says 15 and is an 1981.
I'm gonna replace the used one (15) for sure: as you can see it is sticking out more through the bottom then the spare one.
