also found that the plate on the front of the head with the injector line holder was loose and most likely my main vacc leak, but im still not running. i noticed whoever had it before had removed the egr tube and not capped the egr, could this be a source of leaking? i took it off and welded it shut. next order of buisness is what can i eliminate as far as vacc lines since this is gonna be a lemons car? if the fuel pump relay isnt installed will the cold start injector not fire? again someone has run a wire back to the fuel pump for power before i got the car. the fuel pump relay spot on the relay panel is brokin and ill have to pull the whole thing apart to get the relay back in. im just guessing at issues for now im figuring im not getting any cold start help. _________________ 78 924 pile of donkey droppings that i never should have bought for 400 bucks |

Hey, ..it's going to be tough trying to figure out what the PO has screwed up. I have spent months undoing things,
trying to get everything back to original. I would hope these cars would run good set up to orig. The closer I get, the better it runs.
I started at the gas tank (gunk and rust) worked my way forward, searched this forum for months,
a wealth of info here, have made great progress when it seemed hopeless.
As for vac line elimination; a constant debate with an unclear resolve. Here's one of the latest http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=30763
Lost interest in the middle, tried coming back at the end, just have to go with trial and error.
Also, for 400 bucks, if car's in good shape, not a bad deal. Someone here in Jax has a '78 not running for $1000 .
Edit; says it runs, needs fuel pump. _________________ I got nothin'
