|
|
When the engine is hot, I have an oil leak coming from the bottom of the plastic engine oil filler tube housing, which is part of the air-oil separator (AOS). This is equivalent to a PCV valve on most cars, I believe.
I have seen where I can buy new seals/o-rings for the AOS after it is removed, but I have not been able to find a source for the AOS itself. The Porsche part number is: 944 107 180 08
Any ideas other than the Porsche dealer?
Anybody else have an oil leak in this location?
Thanks,

| i have even delt with them over the phone they are great with service, i ordered a fuel line they sent me the wrong one, and the next day the right one was in the mail no charge, and if they dont have it they will get it. But take note that most of the parts are off old cars so they are not all new, gaskets and what not will be, but big parts wont. |

The leak is not always the o-rings. The plastic itself shrinks and warps with age.
If you are going to buy a replacement, you should consider buying new, although it will be costly.
Try Performance Products, they are one of the few authorized Aftermarket Sellers who can buy directly from the PCNA Warehouse. Parts that are not in their catalogs are available if you contact them for a quote.
Paragon Products may also be an Authorized Porsche Aftermarket Parts Dealer. Their service is good, and prices are reasonable. Might pay to inquire with them as well. |

New one on me.... I've seen a noticable drop of oil pressure when these puppies blow bad. I would be very suprised if a couple of cheap o-rings didn't sort this out. |

Finally found it new at Lindsey Racing for $170 (ouch!)...
$80 or best offer from DC Auto... (used)
$40 from a member of this board (used)
I think I'll tear it down and check the o-rings first....
What is principal function of this device? How does it work?
