The transport company just dropped off my new purchase, an '88 with 83K
on the clock. Pretty decent shape, interior is really nice although a dash cap has been installed (poorly). So far it looks like it has a stainless aftermarket exhaust. The car is charcoal grey but after looking into it further I realized there had been a color change and it was originally a black car. No sunroof, cloth seats and door panel inserts, burgundy carpet. Makings of a lightweight...

It had power windows and a passenger side mirror though, but further discussions with the owner and I realized these were add-ons. The door panels also had black plastic caps where the manual winders would be.

The first thing I did was look in the trunk for a label with info on it and found the one. Starts off with C02 030 and then later on the sequencing says 756. Please tell me what I think that means. More pics to come but I do need to get some work done today! Nice aftermarket rims too that look like the Porsche Cup wheels.

How's Gainesville? I lived there for many years & miss it. Know many gearheads around there?

I love it here. Lived in South Florida all of my life and just got sick and tired of dealing with rude, pushy people. Plus I got married and have a 2 year old daughter. Much better place to raise a kid. Plus I went to college here many years ago.

Only been here a year now and the only other gearhead I know is another Florida alum who's now a detective. He's got an old E28 BMW and a E21 Euro 323i.

My Mondial is maintained by Mike at Cavallino Automobili in Ocala but I need to find a decent Porsche guy up here now. I do like this thing so far, very well built. I had an 86 944 Turbo back in 90-91 and liked it but the thing buried me in maintenance. Lost a ton of money on that car. Hopefully, this will treat me better.

Well, I'm no mind reader, but I can tell you what I think that means.

The highly coveted SE version. Sucks that they ruined the original door cards by putting power window switches in them, but a great car just the same. Congrats. Doesn't happen to have option 220, does it?

By the way, pictures are mandatory.

You know, you're not far from some serious gear-heads, right?

They can certainly help recommend a good Porsche mechanic, plus they have all sorts of car-related events that aren't all NASCAR-centric.

OK, here you go:
CO2 030 160 360 526 573 657 756 990. No LSD, dang it. But still can't complain. Got pretty dirty on the transport from PA so will wash it and take some pics this weekend. Vaccumed the interior last night, besides for the dash the interior is a 9.
