It took a few weeks to get to me but they finally arrived this morning. There are more bits included in the box but here are the main components.

I'll post progress as I install.

Yeah, pretty cool

How much weight do those things take off the front-end, when all is said and done?

The Deutsch Nine site indicates a weight savings of 25lbs.

I've been mulling that over.... but its a loooooong haul. However, I might consider putting it on a trailer and taking a road trip with the wife and son.

Interested to hear how you rate the quality. I quite fancy their Lexan rear screen

After having received lotsa goodies in the mail over the last 2 weeks I got right down to work. First to go in were the Deutsch Nine GTS headlights.

Although the description on the D-Nine site suggests the install should take a 1/2 a day, the actual time commitment is over a number of days. Removing the original pop-up lights is the easy part, epoxying parts together, getting the bucket alignment correct and then epoxyed that in, then epoxying the front supports, getting the lights positioned, obtaining the bulbs, aligning the lights and finally siliconing on the covers. Alot of the time is spent waiting for epoxy to dry overnight but evenso they are certainly not an easy install. One of the more difficult projects I've tackled so far.

Also while waiting for some epoxy to dry one day I decided to sand down my beat up old fuchs and put some paint on them. I plan on replacing them with some much nicer finished examples, but in the mean time the blacked out look will do. Still need to do the rears.

Next on my list, a recently received AIR GT hood scoop. My other scoop was just too different from OEM for my taste. I'd been putting off getting my fiberglass hood installed waiting for this improved scoop. I decided to fiberglass rather than bolt it on. So more epoxy and tons of finish sanding ensued. Here it is primer ready and waiting for its eventual paint job.

Then something I put off way too long. An Innovative Motorsports LC1 wide-band air/fuel sensor controller and gauge. I chose the red DB gauge kit for its easy readability and precision. Fits nice and snug where the a/c switch normally sits.

Also, if you noticed I added hood pins. These were not an optional cosmetic choice. Fiberglass hoods are notorious for being a bit flatter than the OEM hoods, so when the fiberglass hood is installed properly the front ends tend to stick up way too much. Not only does this let air under the corners which creates a lot of hood wiggle... it also looks like crap. I scooted down to the local autozone and picked up a hoodpin kit. No welding required, a bit of aluminum angle and some bolts gives you a nice mounting point for the pins.

I lost a bit of weight in the process. The FG hood and D9 lights are certainly much lighter than the OEM parts but I also managed to delete all the a/c components in the engine bay over this same period. I'd say I'm about a 100lbs lighter. Add that to the weight lose from the front and rear bumper changes and I'd say she's getting pretty light. I'm considering the rear seat delete and a lexan hatch but still up in the air regarding those items. And while I'd like to lose weight from the seats, I don't really know if its worth it for only 20lbs total.

I'm getting really close now. The engine is running perfect and almost all the exterior parts are in place. Just a few more things to do before the body gets fully prepped and its time for final paint.

Great to see the progress! I'm disappointed to hear about the difficulty of the D9 installation, giving me pause...might be just as well to do roll my own.

Yeah the two things that will set the car off are a nice paint job and 16" fuchs in a staggered 8 and 9 fitment and in my preferred finish.
