My fuel pump died and I just bought a replacement pump of eBay because it was waay cheaper than most other places. I bought a new Tank->Pump fuel hose from Pelican too. I get the fuel pump in the mail and the pump is bigger than my original. The actual size is a little larger as well as the fuel inlet on the bottom. My problem is that I can not get the new hose to fit over the inlet part of the new fuel pump. I really don't want to buy an OEM fuel pump, but unless I can find a way to get the hose on the pump i think i might be screwed. My question is this: 1)could I use a heat gun to fit the hose larger? and 2) If not, could this pump be made for a later model Porsche that uses a larger hose, if so i could buy that fuel hose and use it on my car?
I'm clueless here and don't really want to dump out $220 for a new OEM pump. Please help if you can. _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy

-If- the pumps' inlet nipple is removable, I'd try to find a correct-sized one with smaller end to match your hose size.
-Or you could find an in-line hose adapter - run a short length the size that fits the pump, then the adapter, then the smaller OE hose back to the tank.
Can't tell from here if expanding the end of the hose to fit is a good option... Give it a try if you like, then if it turns out to be undoable, or if the results leave you nervous due to damage, try one of the above. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. Number 1 is not the case. The inlet is part of the fuel pump body. I did think of your second suggestion but I'm having a lot of trouble finding a fuel hose thats wide enough. Not really sure what i'm going to do. _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy
