Where's a good source to buy a freshly re-built stock 2.5L engine at a reasonable price?
I know Lindsey Racing will do it, but they're kind of pricey.
Thanks,

You should rebuild your engine yourself but bore it out and stroke it. Or drop a LT1 in it and womp people at stoplights.

No, still running pretty strong, but at 95k plus miles, I'd like to have an option if it does blow. The slow oil leak at the back of the engine is a little bothersome when the engine is run hard.
I'd love to learn how to rebuild it myself, but I think I'll need a local mentor with some fancier tools.
LS1 or LT1 conversion would be sweet, but a little beyond my ability right now.

At 95K miles it still has a good way to go if you change the oil all the time. These engines despite the timing belt breakage problems were built like tanks.

Yep - 265K on mine that I'm aware off - and I bought with non-operational speedometer.

The plan right now is to have the full cage done over the winter and start participating in PCA Club Races and SCCA Time Trials next year, so I can get my racing license.
2011 = maybe 944Cup or 944Spec
At least that's the dream... _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S - track toy
