Change the oil and pray?

Might just be a sticky tappet, get them on the Elise soemtimes a good thrash sorts them out, but it's up to you...!

Get a can of SeaFoam at WalMart and use a portion for a few miles. Read the can. Then change your oil and filter. I suggest using OEM Porsche or Mahle filter with the good oil antidrain back valve.

You should also use an oil with more ZDDP if you are not using now.

I noticed that after running and driving it around the block (about4 miles) that there was a noticable reduction in the lifter tick.
She drove it to work and back yesterday (about 12 miles one-way) and now it is completely gone
Thanks for the tips
I will be changing over to a winter grade here shortly as I run my cars...the porsches anyway once a week during the winter.

Just a sticky tappet. Happens now, but does she feel guilty?

I have been running Castrol GTX 20-50 during the warm months. I never checked to see what it had for ZDDP. I always use the Mahle filters

Same here, 12 years.

FYI, Brad Penn or Valvoline RO (racing oil), both have a lot of ZDDP.
