power locks or manual?
could you further describe the whirring? possibly the fan? is the idle high? _________________ "Kraut cars, they know how to build 'em".

I'm guessing the whirring noise is the Torque Tube bearings. _________________ 78 924 NA

Door handles do brake. Pot metal.
Find a new or used one.
Guess maybe...fan belt worn _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

the door locks are manual ones
cuz manual is the way to go lol
and the whirring comes from the rear
it seems to get lighter as the clutch pedal is pressed down
it either totally disappears then or is very faint, hard to tell _________________ 1980 porsche 924 turbo 5speed getrag gearbox |
