It appears to have some sort of a leather wrap.

What I mean is, that is not a stock dash. It has been recovered, no?

Correctemundo

But I personally think it looks better than a stock dash. I am not into this 'has to be stock' thing. 944 II seats also look (much) better than the 924 seats.

I agree on both accounts...the dash looks great, just wanted to be sure you knew it wasn't like NOS or something.

There are two companies in Germany that offer recovered dashes, to original specs, for around €450=$650.

Then we have 928leathershop offering DIY leather covers for $499 and and a fitting service for $799.

There is also now a second hand dash offered here withour cracks from a 1983 car.

But if you find a mint dash, howlong would it hold up, if you are careful?

Well, it has to be fitted on a dash, so would involve shipping dashes back and forth.

Looks nice - I believe you could get your dash done at any retrimmers, even clothes repairers (tailors?) could be up to the job I reckon.

You could get the stitch in white or anything, it'd look beautiful.

BTW, what does NOS mean? Is it OE?

The leather covered dash has been on ebay.de for the last years or so. Made by skilled craftsmen in Poland for peanuts and it does include the original dashboard. Not the best quality but worth every penny. This is actually on my To-Buy list, but not top-ten.
