hi, bought ANOTHER one, this time its an 1981 924 2.0 N/a. as my winter project and this one has a heap of probs,
first things first I want to get it running, then ill tackle all the leaks and broken bits.
When i try to turn it over, it gives about 3 seconds of turn over then dies, the previous owner said it may be the starter motor, however would the motor turn over at all if it was dead?
I can see the cam wheel from the drivers seat and it turns over well for the first few seconds then just stops dead.
the car has a selca immobliser fitted, and it does work as in, if i dont use the fob, there are NO electrics and the engine wont even entertain a single turn.
what could be causing this? the service history goes back to 1985 and the car has had 2 starter motors already in this time, (i know its 29 years) but only 123,000 miles.
its Not the battery, I WAS USING A huge batery from my Mr2 racer with a tester on it and it has huge voltage and ampage,
its not the fuel or it would still be turning over but no start,
what would cause the motor to do this? |
