Relatively new problem here. Just noticed the last two times I drove my 1988 S that it would from time to time hesitate on accelleration. It would cruise fine, and do very hard accelleration fine, but light pressure to the throttle would cause the engine to hesitate. Any thoughts?

How about air flow meter? The moving arm inside it on the film like surface. As you might know that surface deteriorates over time and then causes hesitation. But this was only a wild guess.

a wild guess is what i wanted. I was thinking MAF but have never had this problem before. I will see if the arm has cut through the film surface. If it has I will shorted it to a diffirent track.

Check for vacuum leaks and check your TPS to make sure it's not telling the DME that the throttle is still shut.

Ditto on Paul's comments - TPS and MAF check is in order.
