hey everyone
I looked around a little but did not see information on this from a history stand point - does anyone know if the factory ever sent a 924 off the line with a carb 'ed set up? Someone asked me the other day, and I realized I did not know for sure - I told them I did not think so. I thought they were all cis? Does anyone know?
Thanks very much

I can pretty much guarantee you a 924 never left the factory with carb's, at least not "production" versions. As for prototypes, racing stuff, etc... who knows what the factory came up with? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

The D-Prod factory racers were carbureted. But there were only 16 of those made. As Khal notes, I don't believe there was ever a "production" version produced with carbs. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

The AMC version used a carb. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Actually, the d-production cars were not originally carburated. They had Klugelfischer mechanical injection. I can send pickies of the KF setup if you'd like to see. It kind of looks like big red webers, but if you look closely,...
A lot of folks went to weber 45 dcoe's after the KF proved cantankerous, but KF is what they started with, not carbies...
The 924 did not come from the factory with carbies. All CIS, k-jet. |
