Hmmm...

Just pushed the car into the garage - was late and didn't want to wake the neighbours for the sake of a 5 metre drive. When I walked back there was a puddle - thin, light, oily fluid - I'm guessing 50ml or so on the drive.

Then I spotted another mark - where the rear wheel had obviously traveled through the puddle, and transported some of the fluid up the drive, and then another just outside the garage door.

So what could have left a puddle in front of the right rear wheel?? I guess it could only be brake fluid, or fluid form the rear shock (no idea what's there honestly - never looked at them since I've owned the car!)

I'll check it tomorrow, too shagged tonight to do more than type this...

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Brake fluid. Leaking m/c or vacuum assist, or might be a caliper/line at one of the wheels (less likely but possible). To confirm, check fluid level in m/c resavoir.

You need to find out where it is coming from...

I once watched a cat mark my car as its' own. It did so by pee-ing on the sidewall of a rear tire. -But I refused to sign over the title. He couldn't have gotten it registered anyway - no hands and too many feet..

If it could have dripped behind the wheel, then might have been a container of something leaking through the bottom of that deep-side-rear storage area.

MC/vac booster is on other side of car. I put on SS lines to replace the old rubber ones 18 months back.

I did smell it Rich - it ain't any sort of piss - definitely an oily fluid.

Will be a week or so before I can get to it now...

Cheers,

Heh heh, I'm still sticking with my original guess -- brake fluid from someplace...

Brake fluid coming out of drum - line in and bleed valve look fine - something obviously ain't right inside the drum.

Calling Private 5-Lug - you've just been promoted son!!

So much for finishing the tune on the MS!

5 lug is easy - stop mincing about and get on with it....

Make the car stop a bit better too but the handbrake is a proper bitch to get right....

That's exactly what I'm doing (the 5-lug, not the mincing!) - well except I'm 11,000km away from the car currently...
