Hi all - first post so please be gentle

Bought my '78 Aus delivered 924 about 5 months ago. Super nice interior (except dash), 944 widebody kit, mechanically pretty good. Still only 4-speed/4-lug for now.

Have fixed up a bunch of rooted electrics courtesy of PO. Have just (like this week) replace engine mounts - keep posted as I don't know if the vibration I want to fix is gone yet.

Anyway - whilst replacing left engine mount this tube popped off the top of the breather tube and was completely stuffed. See PET pic below.

What can I replace this with?? It is only maybe 50mm long and 18mm ID??

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would think any fuel/oil resistant hose that fits would work... Why not buy the prosche factory or an aftermarket part. I can't imagine its that expensive...

I used clear pvc tubing (3/4"(19mm) inside diameter). (After some research and
finding it actually scores high on heat and oil (HC (hydrocarbon)) resistance.)

Thanks for your responses. I will pick up some PVC tubing and slot it in.

PS - I couldn't be bothered asking for OEM (not at Pelican etc anyway) as my local guy quotes $8squillion + 2 weeks delivery ex-Germany everytime I ask him for something. ho-hum.

I never considered this, I think mine is either just standard Rad hose or silicone Vac hose (only just replaced it) I guess I will have to find something oil resistant. Thanks for pointing this out as I had overlooked it.

Get down to the scrapyard and get an oil breather pipe.
You'll find most pipes in the engine bay are oil resistant.

On my 80 NA that tube had a baffle at the filter end which kept oil condensation from entering the intake.

The solution a fellow board member came up with:

Rasta, you suck, and you owe me $100.
