Does anybody have a turbo or 944 exhaust tract dismatled?
i've just realised that the exhaust piping on my car is 60mm in diameter until the last piece and then the last piece is smaller in diameter...55mm i guess. I want to correct that and at the same time angle the exhaust to the side to eliminate the fumes problem. For this i need to make a complete new exhaust "last part"

basicaly i just need the bolt spacing to be able to make a new flange.

Why not just cut off the end pipe from the muffler and reweld a new one with an angle in it ?

That way the muffler clamps line up correctly.

i'm not into destroying original equipment, the tract end that is now on the car will be dismounted and kept while a new tract end will be fabbed professionaly...it will line up.

Morghen, I have one disassembled at home, I'll measure it later this afternoon if no one beats me to it.

Uhh,

Are you sure that the 944 and 951 tubing and flange are the same size? I had both brand-new 951 and 944 catbacks here at one time (got a deal on a mix of (10) brand-new 944 and 951 for $40 each from the swapmeet). From what I remember, they were not the same diameter, nor were they the same length, or terminate (flange in the same place).

I still have one brand-new German OE 944 catback sitting in the back of the garage (incase I need it for my 924S when I get it running).

well i'm sure the 931 exhaust is BIG...as in probably 60mm diameter...but the last piece is smaller...55 or so...so there cant be much room for error...the 924 NA must have 45-50...the 944 must have 50-55 and the 931 and 951 must have 60. in that case i might need to go on an elevator and measure the thing on my own.

The pipe as depicted in the picture has an I.D. of 60mm (prior to the flange where it flares out for the sealing ring).

The bolt pattern is ~70mm center-to-center. The bolt holes are ~11mm.
