I was at a junk yard the other day and I saw some parts that I thought might look good on a 924 but I thought I would ask the experts(thats you guys by the way)

Hatches do any others fit the 924?
ex like the audi quatro or like a datsun or any at all

Dashes are any even close?
ex none

Center consoles?
ex any vw before 1995

rims (I still have 4 bolters)
I saw some triumph rims I loved

please post here any parts besides porsche parts that fit the 924 could be lots of fun thanks

944 hatches are the only other ones that fit that I'm aware of.

There have been some 944 dash swaps and some Golf dashboards as well.

I don't think any other center consoles would work without some hacking.

The 4-bolt wheel pattern is similar to a number of european cars of the time (Early Escorts and Audi's) That bolt pattern is close to 4-lug Mustangs as well. The offsets and centerbores are likely wrong.

With some work, the 928 mirrors can be adapted.

The 924/944 already have a number of parts from other cars. just off the top of my head:

Front suspension (control arms and steering rack are from an A1 Rabbit.

Rear suspension is from a later model Beetle.

G31 transaxle is a 911/914 unit with a different case (and gear ratios are different) The 016 transaxle is from a FWD Audi

Engine is of course from an Audi

Front seats are from a 911

I'm sure there is more, but that is all I can think of right now.

sorry guys, but the engine is not an audi contruction.

it was developed by mercedes benz in 1968 for hanomag. built at the VW engine factory in kassel/germany.
but this engine was never used in any hanomag.
because the 924 should be a VW first, they took this engine for it. all the engines fo the 924 was produced until the year 1978. than they stopped the production. VW and Porsche thought, that in 1981 all engines should be sold out. therfore the 944 engine was made in 1981. but the 924 engine was still on stock until 1985
VW uses this engine in 1977 for the audi 100 , too. but only until 1979. also this engine has been used in a transporter of vw as a diesel.

it is a great HOAX that the 924 PORSCHE engine is an audi.
it was from VW , made by mercedes benz , with porsche processing for the 924.
this engine was so perfect for this time, that is was possible to used it in different ways : as a diesel to a 375 HP le mans engine.

not bad for the sixties

For the engine, don't forget that they were used in the early US Postal Jeeps. The weird ones with right hand drive and the sliding door. I had on of these engines a few years ago. They used a Ford starter motor that was higher torque than the Bosch one. I had one of these on my last 924. I don't know if they are available anymore. When the post office cleaned out the stock of parts for that version of postal Jeep I had a friend that worked in the local main facility and got a couple of starters and an engine for me.
