I got my broken hatch pin out with extractors.
I got a pair of new model pins, mine came with the older style pins, the ebay chap assured me that they new ones would fit fine and that the only difference was the lack of a slot in the new ones.
They did fit fine, but the hatch really has to be forced shut, I have found the adjuster makes no difference up or down. I now suspect that the pins are going to give way due to the tension.
Does anyone know how i can fix this new problem? What is the difference between the old style pins and the new? _________________ Steve

Adjusting the latch takes some time. Loosen them both up and slowly push the hatch pins in and out a few times. Then tighten them up. Repeat if necessary. Also helps if you grease the latches up a bit. _________________ 1980 924 NA

Loosen slightly and rotate them. Worked for me. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

I seem to have fixed it.
I took the pins and the bars that hold them and pushed them on their own into the locking mechanism. it was not difficult.
So I made up a couple of slim spacers to go between the hatch and the bar and the problem seems to be solved! _________________ Steve
