It all depends on which wheels you plan to run and what offset they are.

If you are going for a more modern Porsche rim for example Design 90's then 30+mm spacers are needed in order for the wheel not to look lost in the wheel arches. If you want period rims like Fuchs or Cookie cutters then no spacers are required.

The basic rule of thumb is any rim with an offset of 23mm or lower will not need a spacer. Any rim 53mm or higher will need a spacer.

Did you have you eye on a particular style of wheel?

mmmm not entirely true...anything wider than a 7 inch rim even with a low offset will need a spacer

It depends on what suspension you have and what wheels you want to use.

First thing you should do is to identify the 5 lug suspension you are going to use...the older it is the bigger spacers you'll need.
After that you need to clear what rims and tires you want to use.
dont neglect the front end...you can end up using spacers on the rears and hudge spacers on the fronts.

I'm using the 931 front suspension and 944S2 rear suspension together with 911 17" wheels...this setup requires a 25mm spacer on the rears and a massive 35mm spacer on the front wheels...so be carefull what you shop for.

hey guys thanks for all the suggestions but i was thinking of buying the bilstein coilovers and dampers kit from porscheshop.co.uk but do you think i should buy 931 front and 944s2 rear suspension?? the wheels i was thinking of buying are an aftermarket new kei rss wheels 17" similar to the rsgt wheels and hoping that would give the car a modern and different look.

Thanks, Luke

i'm not talking about dampers and coils...but about suspension arms and hubs...they differ in length so this alters the wheel offset.
