I need this measurement in order to spec out and order my Tilton pedal box setup. Does anyone know it off hand?

23mm comes to mind for some reason, but that would need verifying.

OK, pardon my ignorance, I've never had one of these apart, what is it exactly that I need to measure? The I.D. of the bore, or can I just measure the diameter of the piston?

Yes, it is 23mm, verified by measuring some old seals.
You should find the ID of the cylinder is 23mm, and the OD of the piston just very slightly less - like a few thousanths" less.
-But it is the ID of the cylinder you want, for your purpose.

OK, so the Tilton guy says I need to match my Tilton master cylinder to the bore size of the stock slave cylinder. But their cylinders are measured in inches not mm. Considering that the 931 slave is 23mm, wonder which would be better: 15/16" / .9375" / 23.8mm OR 7/8" / .875" / 22.2mm?

Better to underfill the slave than overfill, IMO.
