|

I have an 88 924S and my drivers side elec window is suddenly not working. I first checked the fuses and relays, all good. Then I pulled the switches, and knowing the pass side switch was good I tested and ruled out the switch. Still, I cleaned both switches and replaced.
Today I removed the door card and was pleased I did because now that I could get close to the motor I could hear power reaching the motor (clicking) and figured something was binding. Unfortunately my Hayes (944) manual has nothing about servicing the motor or regulator. So without even a diagram and with very difficult access I decided to loosen some of the 6 bolts securing the motor. I also loosened two allen head screws but have no idea what they are for (they are fore/aft adjustable). I then shook and moved the motor around. Presto! The windows rolled up and down twice in both directions. Then nothing. I worked for an hour trying to get the windows to go again with no luck.
Any advice for me? Any diagrams or step procedures? I thought the window lift was binding but I can't see too well into the door to tell what is happening. While I didn't think it was an electrical issue, could it be? _________________ RichieRich

I had a similar problem, where my passenger window would go down fine, but not up. .cleaning the switches would change things, then go away. I wound up replacing both passenger switches ( one on drivers door and passenger door ). completely fix the issue. 20$ a piece for brand new switches was worth it. _________________ 1988 Blue 924s |
