I have been diagnosing a no start issue for a few weeks. (Actually only a few days of actual tinkering) I just tested the resistance on the coil. the negative to positive resistance should be .4 to .6 but I'm reading 1.2

Also the center to negative should read 500-7200 ohms. My meter just flashes 1400 - 1500 then goes to 1. I think the coil is bad. Anyone have a second opinion?

I got all the proper values from Clarks-garage.com......

Thanks,
Chris

So thats still one opinion isnt it? coil is F`d.

Heres another opinion: You may not be using your meter correctly. Is the resistance of the test leads allowed for? Short them together and note the value. Then if its a basic DMM allow 0.2 for error at low readings. With the secondary, try a higher resistance range, like 20K if its at 2K now. Sure theres good contact at HV post?

Do you get a spark simply hooking the coil across the battery, and disconnecting? More chance of a sus flywheel sensor than the coil.
