Hi, one of my mates has just put a 1987 924S engine in his 1983 944. I don't know all the details about it, but apparently it starts and runs for about 10 seconds then shuts down.

Are there any sensors etc that he may have hooked up wrong that could cause the computer to do this as a fail safe setting, or is it likely to be something else? I wondered if it has a low water level sensor that may cause this, as I don't think he's put water in it yet.

Sorry I know this is vague, but I just wondered if this is a common problem before he spends too much time looking in the wrong direction.
