|
|
The part number is 931 104 301 3R from 1979 Euro model.
Any idea why it's not in PET? I found some more incorrect numbered parts in my car that wasn't in PET. So what is going on here?
Some other numbers not in PET - all from 1979:
Gearbox housing: 477 300 102 AA
Cylinder head from 924: 047 103 373
Distributor: 0 231 170 239
Snailshell housing: 477 301 101 A
K-jet distributor: 0 428 100 0.. - two last cant read
Turbo air waccum valve: 0 280 140 204
And my cylinder block S/N is 31 01 08 69 and part nr starts from: 046 1... cant read more without takeing off intake manifold
Something is strange here...
The oil pan part nr is: 047 103 603 B _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

This might be a dumb question, but have you checked all of the PET catalogs for the 924? What I mean by that is both the North American and ROW versions, as well as the early catalog (up thru model year '79) and the late catalog (80-onward)??? There would be four versions to look thru...I'd do it myself, but I don't have the full distribution with me on my laptop...
Also, the ignition distributor part number, fuel distributor part number, and vacuum valve part numbers you list are all Bosch numbers, NOT Porsche numbers, so they won't show up in PET.
A quick search of the oil pan part number reveals that the "B" designation was a superceded part number for the original oil pan part number, and shows up on Pelican's site as being for 924 (1980-1985) (Turbo GT).
{EDIT}
The other interesting thing about the head in your photo is that it does not have the breather port drilled as the later 931 heads did. Don't know what that means, but every 931 head I own (I have at least six I can think of at the moment) all have the breather port opened up. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I've always assumed that the lack of a breather port is more common on the early turbos, <= 1980, before the breather pipe pipe upgrade shown below:
So you probably took off a one piece pipe. The head I've just purchased is the same. You definitely want the pipe and other parts shown here:
There is another rubber hose and clamp, and the L shaped piece to affix to the head in the blank spot Ideola is citing. _________________ 1980 924 turbo, MSD, Meth. Inj, otherwise stock. |

Both heads are from european 924 and 931 engines from 1979. I check that part numbers in all PET's I have and nothing.
Ideola what documents you have in your PC? Maybe you have something what I don't have I've got a lot of prints of almost any manual I can get. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

The full PET distribution is available in PDF format here:
http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=17488
It's a bit tricky to search for part numbers due to the PDF format, but if you type the numbers in as triplets separated by spaces, it should find what you're looking for.
I don't have the full distribution with me on my laptop, but it's at home on my external storage device. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I've got all this PETs form this page. Do you have something more? And I search using PDF search engine... typing like this "XXX XXX XXX" just like you say before me so it's not problem in that. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

Weird enough, my '82 doesn't have the breather drilled out..... probably not the original head. _________________ Ryan Moone
