I was going to bleed my front brakes because the pedal was still spongy after replacing the rear cylinders and bleading them. I took the wheels off and the bleeder screws are completely rounded off. Any ideas? There were also some salad bowl looking dust covers, are these factory? I took them off. _________________ 81 924 N/A

Time for a bleed of the system, adjust your drums, and time for new bleeder screws. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

careful removing the bleed screws. Someone rounded them off probably from overtightening.
I snapped 2 off the first time I did my brakes. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

The salad bowls are not factory and not required or recommended. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

There's also a very good possibility that your brake hoses need replacing too. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Forgot to add, it shouldn't be hard to find suitable replacement bleeders at your local parts store, once you get the old ones out.

Thanks for the help, I figured those salad bowls where not factory, I had never seen anything like them before. They were just a good place for black widows to hide! _________________ 81 924 N/A
