so my oil and brake light are now flickering simultaneously, my oil pressure is still reading between 4 and 8 so i know theres pressure and im always on top of making sure theres enough oil in my engine and, and theres the right amount of brake fluid in there as well, so im guessing these run on the same circuit and the fault is electrical not mechanical. any input to put my mind at ease would be helpful come on ideola i know you have the answer!!!

Mine did that, well, still does intermittently. The foil from the firewall is exposed and hits the oil pressure sending unit terminals.

Both my E-Brake light and Oil light go off every time I use the pedal brake. Its really weird. I just had the master brake cylinder replaced and now I have even worse brake pressure (where i have to put foot to the floor and it still hardly stops the rolling), and the oil and e-brake lights come on when applying the brake. Weird thing is that my e-brake isn't even connected to the light anymore!

Flyguy - put your model and year in your profiles' signature area.
I'm guessing you have the earlier brake warning light arrangement involving switches that are built into the MC. -And they're indicating an imbalance in the braking system. If not a major failure somewhere as in rusted-frozen circuit, possibly simply a need for rear brake adjustment?

Sorry, still have to add it. I have a 1977 NA 924. And that is the ing I am going to try and do today later this afternoon. Should just be take the wheel off and adjust the backing plate by pivoting a screwdriver inside the inspection holes and twist, correct?

No need to take the wheel off.

Also, you don't twist the screwdriver -- you lever the screwdriver. You want the blade of the screwdriver roughly parallel with the bottom of the car, then raise or lower the handle of the screwdriver (depending on the side of the car you're adjusting) to adjust the star nut.

There has been some debate here over the direction you must rotate the nut in order to adjust the shoes. On my car, a '78, all adjusters are right-hand threads, which results in:

Left wheel front shoe: handle down, tip up
Left wheel rear shoe: handle up, tip down
Right wheel front shoe: handle up, tip down
Right wheel rear shoe: handle down, tip up

Dont not much about it all but I have sort of the same problem, the brake and oil ligths come on but like half lighted and when I press the brakes they go of, when the E-brake is engage the brake ligt goes off but the oil one stays on, I recently updated the console from a 79 to a more recent one, but the E brake and seatbelt ligth was also changed for a recent one that has like a circle or so, I think It migth be that unit that is causing my problems, dont know if its the same thing or anyone else seem that happen, what is the circle sign ligth for anyways?
