Hi all,

Does anyone have a picture with a nice view of the fuel accumulator on a 924 NA? Preferably showing how it is mounted (close to the tank?) with connectors, etc. And preferable a post-1980 car with a 40cc accumulator.
The PO has removed it and I can't find any place where the fuel lines have been cut, so perhaps he has installed new lines without installing an accumulator (for whatever reason).
Gotta get a new one in before summer - I was caught on a ferry twice last summer, desperately trying to warm-start my car.....

many thanks & happy new year!!

Chrenan beat me to it...and his thread is a worthwhile read. But since I took the time to type it up, here y'go:

Don't know if this helps or not, but here is a snippet from PET.

You should have a flexible line (#2) coming form the in-tank pump (#1) outlet to the external pump (#4) inlet; this line is secured with hose clamps (#3). Then you should have a flexible fuel line (#10) with compression fittings coming from the external pump outlet to the accumulator (#12) inlet. And finally, you should have another flex line (#14) with compression fittings coming from the accumulator outlet and connecting to the larger of the two hard lines (#16) that carries fuel forward into the engine bay. (The smaller of the two hardlines is the return feed).

The hardlines are secured to the undercarriage with white plastic clips (note that there is also a flex nitrile line for venting fumes to the charcoal canister that runs along side the two hardlines). The accumulator is held in place with a bracket (#13) and worm-screw clamp (#11). The accumulator's flex lines are way up there, crossing over the gearbox, so with everything in place, they can be a challenge to get to.

Make sure you have some good penetrating oil and proper line wrenches. If your round off the compression nuts on the hard lines or flex lines, you'll really be screwed.

thanks a lot to both of you, this really helps. Sorry I didn't find the how-to in my search

I can definitely get it done with this info - but if anyone has photos, I'd still love to see!

thanks again
