When I was in the army in Augsburg Germany I had a 1950 170 Merc 4 door sedan and I would cover the motor with an army blanket in the winter. If I did not use the car for a couple of days it was a bear to start.

Of all the cars I have owned this one to me is the nicest looking. It had suicide doors and the car was black and in perfect condition. Gas at the time was .10 a gallon at the base. The deal was I would go anywhere the guys would like to go and I paid the gas but they bought the beers. Cost of the beer was . 25 a litre. That was real beer. So you could go out spend a dollar and maybe you would make it home.

ok, my question wasn´t about how to cover your car. I am asking what do you put in front of your vehicles RADIATOR to get a least somewhat of warm air into your winter-driving Porsche!? (Size,material ect...)

So you want to get engine temperature up in order get warm air inside the cabin? Have you asked your local spare part shop?

The last time I've seen those covers here was years ago, I wonder if they are still manufactured.

My car warms up nicely even in very cold weather but maybe it is because of the turbocharger. I use Calix engine block heater also so it is always pre-warmed before start-up.

Something like this? -->

It is for VW Polo TDI, so I guess they still make these things.

Years ago I used thin sheet alumin[i]um, but still didn't get great heat. Eventually flushed out the heater lines from the rear of the cylinder head area. Some plugs of mud (PO's radiator stop-leak) shot out, and the heater has been more than adequate since, and without blocking the radiator even in the coldest weather (that we got in central NJ).
-So check your cooling system for blockage. In my case the blockage had built-up near the heater valve. Look here - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=5584

Ha, I did that on my Opel once, and a huge silicone turd came plopping out of the heater hose. Good thing it clogged up in Colorado. In January. At night. With a foggy windshield.

I've always used cardboard with no problems.
