I do not have a 924(yet) but I am considering trading my 1979 Hurst/Olds for a 1987 924S in guards red and black interior with a local dealer. Little is know about the maintenance but it has 78,000 miles on it. It seems to drive and run well. The only real problem that I can find is the clutch pedal does not return all the way and rides on the throwout bearing. Is this an easy fix with a spring or is it much more difficult than that?

Anyhow any and all input would be appreciated.

Thanks, ScottV

Scott:

Tell us more about the Hurst Olds. What year/condition, etc?

Have you been invited yet to our monthly meetings? One coming up soon.

And welcome to the board.

Welcome Scott,

Sounds like a slave cylinder going out. Easy fix. Before you buy anything there is a black 924S here in Lincoln with some maintenance history. The car is at Halloman Motors. I don't know anything about the dealer but the car was maintained by a local shop. Hopefully we can see you at breakfest this Saturday.

Rob

DO NOT TRADE YOUR HURST OLDS FOR A 924!
ill say it again, DONT DO IT.....

the his/her shifter alone in the olds is worth more than most 924's , and if yours has the 403 and t tops.. regardless of condition, still allot more than a 924.
if anything, sell the olds outright, then go shop for a 924/944 etc... you will have plenty of change left.

BTW, who's the local dealer w/the 924S?

If you'd like help w/a pre-purchase inspection, let us know.
