|

So this winter I had the top of the motor off to replace a cracked exhaust manifold. Now that I have it all back together cant get her to start. Seems like a fuel problem but now that I have been reading some of the fuel problem threads I have a couple of other things I need to check too. I tried removing one of the injector inlet lines to see if the injector was getting fuel but did not realize I should have been lifting the sensor plate in order to see fuel there. Jumpered between 30 and 87 at the fuel pump relay and heard the pump running. Anything I might have missed when reinstalling the head and intake manifold which would cause it not to start? (sorry I realize that could a pretty wide open question)
She looks so pretty and clean in there now and the weather is so nice I need to get her running!!! |

Distributor re-installation, and ignition timing?.. Problems in that area, including having the ignition timing exactly 180 degress off is not unusual. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Justin like the previous poster said check spark first. Then check timing if you have spark. Make sure double sure triple sure the t-belt was installed dead on per the fsm. But if it was not and you had been cranking on it this could be a issue. But not to bad unless it was way off 3 teeth or more N/a motors are not interference motors.
I have a feeling the dizzy is off 180 as well. Spray a little gas down the snout and crank it off. Make sure plug wires are on in the right spot too. Check resistance at the coil. _________________ For every tree hugging hippie there is a guy with a rotary polluting at 120mph |

i had the same problem just this afternoon make sure all the spark plugs are good i checked mine twice thought they were fine (these were new spark plugs) but there was only a small spark which technically should of still fired but when i tried out the old ones after cleaning them up first turn of the key and...broom great feeling! so if you have checked everything i advie that you do it again its always the littlest of things which are the worst lol... hope this helps! _________________ 1982 - 924 Lux
