Today, I got the Porsche to turn over. Finally. It then promptly died. But that's the good news! The bad news being, there is a coating of what looks and smells like motor oil throughout the throttle body, and air intake. I am thinking it may be the DV or the PCV valve, and I'm hoping it's nothing serious. Has anyone else encountered this, and what was the culprit? (I ran a search, but only found stuff for 944s.. Sorry if this is a re-post or relatively common question) Another one-off question, the 78 924 has an electric fuel pump, yes?

oil in the air box is not all that unusual and is probably OK the TB may be a little far down for oil though so maybe you are not OK, any way it is probably just a blocked Crankcase breather give her a clean (its a pain in the ass though) question 2 the answer is yes.

You can find the Breather in the Tech section of the site, here's a link.
It's in the engine section, just scroll down til you see the part about the engine breather.

I bought one from Auto Atlanta, pretty cheap. They're a bitch to put in, good luck.
