Been trying to install the door handle linkage rod per clark's garage instructions. I can't seem to get that plastic piece to snap into the ball. Infact, I tried to hard to shove it in that I snapped the linkage piece itself.
Perhaps installation through the door handle opening is not the way to go.
Can anyone help me out on this? I may very well have to remove the metal pieces holding onto the window track!? _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

it absolutely will not budge even pushing on it directly.

I had a similar problem in that my plastic piece was broken and modified. It is crucial that both the plastic peice and the ball line up correctly. What i ended up doing was:
remove the door panel
check that the plastic peice goes in behind the window rail, over the ball peice
get my hand in from behind, to try and feel when its in the right spot
put the key in the lock and turn it until it feels like it is in the right position.
then try and press it on with your hand or, if unsuccessfull by inserting a screwdriver through the hole on the inside of the door.
I have removed and reinstalled my door handle probably 5 times, and only the last time took me almost an hour, prior to that I was able to snap it easily, and I am still uncertain about what went wrong... Good luck, and hope this helps. |

Grease the opening.
Get a tool that is shaped like a C and use it to pull the part on.
You will see this tool at Harbour Freight and comes with other screw drivers etc. Usually a 5 piece set.
Think of an ice pick with the end bent like a c. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"
