Anyone with a 924S taken their PAS system apart?

I'm after a replacement on of these:

But the manuals seem to list only these:

which I think is for a 944 (and looks like there isn't the clearance to fit behind my 924S wing)

(Oh, and it's the power steering fluid cooling pipe, that runs back into the PAS reservoir if anyone's interested)

Any help in part identification appreciated.

Cheers,

Sy

I'm guessing you have a 1986 924S and the Porsche factory was still trying to use up power steering hoses from earlier 924s.

If the local parts houses or warehouse cannot help go to a hydraulic shop and they will put on new rubber hose and fittings/clamps. If the metal has cracks or cannot be repaired you might have to try and use the current part number.

Thanks for the reply - seems the links don't work, I'll try again:

(this's what came off my 924S)

(this's exactly the same as the 924S manual depicts, but appears to be a 944 part)

opps last post no work. Also get yourself a new updated PS line. This is the one that goes from the resvour directly to the pump. It's shorter and more direct, and doesn't kink like the orginal one. My pump was screaming noises on first startup, all fixed now.

Thanks for the reply - well it turns out that the 924S manual is wrong! The exploded diagram shows the lower pic with 4 loops (which is actually for some 944s I think) but Porsche's replacement part is the same as what I removed from my car (with only 2 loops).

Not sure what the link is actually selling - I thought the pipe needs the kinks in as that's what actually cools the PAS fluid?

Yep, our 1988 RHD 924S has same pipe with same corrosion.
