Just a quick question before I decide to buy this.

Is this the right manual I would need If I wanted to know how to get to and fix the shifter and get to the trans and all? I believe my 924 has the sloppy snailshell and my gears are grinding so I want this problem solved!

It's the standard used around here.

There are better resources available, but some people buy perfect running examples of 924's for less.

^+1. It's actually very good. A whole sight better than the Haynes 944 manual.

It would be cheaper, faster, and easier to buy an Audi type 4-speed or 5-speed tranny than to try to fix your Porsche type snail shell 5-speed tranny because of the cost and unavailability of replacement parts.

About a couple of weeks ago, I posted a message that there was an eBay Seller offering 924 trannys for a $150 "Buy It Now" price, plus shipping. You can't even get the gasket set for a snail shell tranny for that price (if you can find one).

Couldn't the bushings possibly fix his problem??? The ones that are like $5? Mine is sloppy + grinds some times too...thats what I planned on doing to see if it fixed mine...
