Some guy near me is selling a '63 Trabbi. Supposed to be 1 of only 6 of that era to be in the States.

What the heck would you stuff into that in place of an air-cooled 600cc 2-cycle, 25 horsepower smoke blower? It's 6 volt. Have to be a motor cycle engine?

How many cars can brag about a steel monocoque and body panels made of resin and cotton/wool fibers sitting on a transverse steel leaf spring suspension?

Pardon the interruption. Back to Porsches.

Might I suggest you wander over to the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine message boards? Post this in the off-topic section and you'll get some very interesting replies.

I only say that, not because we're not interested here, but mostly because that site seems to have the highest concentration of loony car-freaks I've met in quite a while and those are just the people who run the magazine!

Case in point: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/berzerkeley/

My vote would be for a larger motorcycle engine, like a goldwing, etc.

Yeah, they not only love engine swaps, they love swaps with esoteric engines done on the cheap. So yeah a 4.9L caddy in a 924 would likely be welcomed with open arms
