I recently bought some engine decreaser for my 924s (87) I decreased it and then sprayed it down with water. I then moved my car (started right up) and moved it about 10 feet then parked it. About 15min later came back to try to start it and it just ticks like it wont roll over. I feel it might have something to do with spraying it with water but then again i dont no because it started up after all this but within 45min didnt start anymore. i tryed to let the engine dry out over night but no dice still just wants to start but wont. The battery is good and so on am stuck right now. Any ideas anyone !

Spray the connectors for the crank sensors with WD40.

If the starter is just clicking, it sounds like a low battery or bad battery connection at the starter. It's possible that wetting the engine caused a discharge on the battery at some point. Have you tried jump starting it?

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought it was turning over and not firing. Have you tried to jump it?

The starter operating is the largest draw on the battery than any other item on the car, so checking the lights is really not a good indicator of charge.

It's a good test if you do it correctly.

Turn the headlights on and have someone watch them.

Try to start the car, if the headlights go out, the battery may be dead.

If the headlights do not dim, the wiring, starter or solenoid is bad.

I agree, a clicking starter could be a weak battery or poor connections, as it was working fine before the wash I would bet on connection. Remove and clean the battery posts and the connections at the starter.

OK then, if water caused the problem at some critical electrical connection, WD40 will dry it out.

remove the throttle body boot and spray in a squirt of starter fluid - fast it back on and give it a shot. If not, then check your plugs and wires for moisture.
