My car is running pretty good. Has a bit of trouble on the cold start, it fires up really quick and nice, then shutters a bit, and sometimes dies off, fires right back up and after 20 or so seconds of idle at the start she sounds nice, and off she goes. The only other running issues are some fuel surging, while cruising at constant speed car kinda jerks a bit as if it were getting a lil extra fuel and backfiring on deceleration (trying to figure out my decel valve...).

Anyways, there are some cut wires right between my ignition coil and distributor, there is a 7 wire connection harness in that area. There is a thin red with white stripe wire cut in that area, some brown (grounds I assume) wires, and a blue (teal) with yellow stripe wire all sitting in that area, they appear to have been cut... The red with white is the most alarming for me, as there is a red with white strip wire going to and connected to my cold start injector as well as my warm up regulator.

I am wondering if those wires might play a part in my running issues.

have you followed your red/white wire (from the WUR) to see where it goes, and see if it is connected to anything?

No not yet, these wires quickly go into a nice tidy wire shroud. I was trying to see if anyone might have an idea before I cut these open to find out .

My guess is
Red-Black to cold start at the connector- Then Red White from the cold start for the thermo switch to the cold start valve.
Red-white to WUR
Teal-yellow to coolant temp sender

Thats on a US 76 diagram, I think thats the same up to 77 1/2

Do you have the Haynes manual?

My haynes manual has seen better days, at this point it is in about 10 sections, and covered in random fluids :S, I need to purchase a new one.

There is a Red with black dots going to cold start.

The red-white, it is attached to the WUR, goes somewhere that I can't really follow without opening some wire shroud, then in the same area, perhaps the other end of the red-white, it's sitting there not attached to anything, and i don't see where it's attached to. But I shall have a look over some diagrams and see if i can find that out.

Teal-yellow, coolant temp sender, if that was wired up properly, would that just give me temp reading on the dash, or does it serve a better purpose?
