just came back from a long 200 kil.cruise car was working great.then i decided to put it through some agressive rpm.as soon as i hit 4 grand the car would lose power slow to 3500 and take off again till 4000,and it would slo to 3500 and take off.now this car has been butchered electrical wise in the cockpit.toggle switchs for everything.theres one for the cooling fans on the rad.the gage sits just under the first white line.so i said to my self, self (thats what i call myself when im takin to myself) switch off the fan the cooling temp.went to the middle and i punched it it went past 4000 and kept climbing i had it at 6 grand and decided on a 50 kil and hr rd thats fast enough(JUST KIDDING )i was in a safe place(a lil timstar 4 ya all) question is was the moter running to cool?when the temp came back down it started acting up again.turned off the fan and there she was again screamin with all its glory.i am planing on fixing all these lil idiosyncrties.so whatchathink? _________________ Doco "where am i going and why am i in this handbasket"author unknown

Is the fan on a relay, or are you pulling all that current from a circuit that it shouldn't. Cars rev from cold with no issues but they need more fuel, if your fan is pulling current from your pump you will have issues.
Have an extra one for me, I'm working for the next 12 hours _________________ 924 zero cylinder race car, |

Before I went EFI I had some horrible ground problems that caused the exact same problem. Everytime my fan kicked on it started to run like crap. My problem came to fruitation one night when I nearly burned my car up. Everything decided to ground thru my CIS fuel lines! It died along the road and I popped the hood to see fuel spraying everywhere! The metal sheaths on the fuel lines melted the plastic part of the fuel lines. I still can't understand why it didn't catch fire? Anyway, my bad ground could all be traced back to the ground lug near the battery. it looked perfect but the PO used an aluminum crimp on a copper cable and this corroded internally. Long story short, check your grounds.
