Sorry for being so out of touch here, just too busy with whatever to get around to giving a mid-season update.

Since I last wrote, we've had two race weekends at Waterford Hills - Races 3 and 4. The 4M Industries/PUB Racing team has been working very hard and the results are starting to show it! For the #77 car, my car, we swept all 3 races at both race weekends, and for good measure I even won my division in a Sunday morning (Race 3 weekend) 5K race around the racetrack! We're now not only leading the championship, but by a considerable margin (though the points have not recently be updated, unfortunately).

Chris Marsh with the #55 car has been making good progress as well, both in driving and car status. He is now (as of Race 4) knocking on the door of the podium, he's moved beyond the bulk of the mid-pack Mustangs. Indeed, Race 4 weekend he picked up 2 4ths and a 3rd place - though there's some question about the last finish as a timing/scoring error, 3rd was the official result.

While Chris didn't qualifying for Race 4 quite as well as he finished, this shows the improvements we were able to make to the car, and the progress he's been able to make with those changes, as he becomes comfortable with the new Bilstein/QA1 shocks we put on the car, among other things, at the beginning of the year. In particular, by tweaking rear shock valving, we seem to have consistently picked up a whole half second! We also prepped a fresh head and installed it in time for this last race weekend; the old head was worn out, so it seems the motor may be a bit stronger too now.

This will be handy for our next race: this weekend, Mid-Ohio! We will be running the Cincy Region SCCA's IT-Spectacular, where we'll be matching up with some of the fastest ITB cars in the country! As this is a much faster track, power is much more important, and since his new motor is not ready, the fresh head is the best we can do for improving the performance.

Further improvements to the #55, we've finally managed to pin down some nagging issues; we were regularly getting oil and coolant both in the overflow, despite good headgaskets etc. We seem to now only have the coolant overflow from a lack of rad fan on the cooldown lap, so that's a driver training issue, not a cooling problem - it's fine during the races - and the oil overflow was traced to an improperly-added breather (on the head, where it doesn't need to be and causes oil to be siphoned off the head). So we simply block that off like stock, and she's happy.

We've also added a center net, for driver protection, and will be adding leg bolsters for impact protection. We also have now installed Cool Shirts in both of our cars, and they're coming in handy for these hot summer months!! They'll be especially important at Mid-Ohio, where the races are 40 minutes, instead of the 15-minute races we have at Waterford!

We do have pictures, which I'm of course overdue to post; I've also reinstalled the video equipment in the #77 car, in preparation for Mid-Ohio, and so I need to process that video yet and upload it to the web for viewing - will post when I've got those up. Meantime, you can enjoy a few team pictures:
