Every time I shut the door my window crank comes off. Any recommendations to do something to get those teeth to hold - they're not stripped, but ever since I took the door panel off to do some work behind there it never stayed on well.

Thanks in advance.

There is a screw that holds it on. Did you forget to put it back?

Never had one and don't see where it would go. Does the center of the knob pop out to reveal where it would go?

According to PET, you need an M6 × 10 mm 'selbstsichernd' (self securing?) hex bolt. I suspect any standard M6 bolt will do.

you have to gently pull the plastic back to reveal the screw under the opposite end to the winding knob.

Its not a standard bolt, its a special flush screw that allows the plastic part to snap back on over it.

I spit like 3 times trying to say that. Do I need to learn german to read the service manuals when I get my 924?

Dunno what PET or fastener you`re looking at there mike.

That screw is actually M5 x 8 countersunk, philips head. In a 77 and 80 anyway.

Sure if you went to your local bolt shop and asked for one you would get a smirk and a freebie.

999 217 029 02 on illustartion 804-15

I wasn't sure myself, but it was the only one anywhere near the winder crank on the diagram...

Sorry if I've misled - no liability accepted or implied!
